Built in 1898, the earliest known owner of this home (if not the original) was David A. Reesor. Reesor came to Brandon in 1882, establishing one of Brandon’s earliest jewelry stores, Reesor’s Jewelry. The business still exists today. Reesor was also an active member of the community, serving on city council, the Brandon Board of Trade, and the Brandon General Hospital Board. Reesor lived at 1033 Louise Avenue as early as 1906 and remained in the home until 1909.
Designed in the Italianate style, the home boasts a truncated roof trimmed with brackets and wide eaves. Canted bay windows adorn both the first and second storey. Decorative elements include a pendant, shingle belt, and stained glass window. The home’s windows feature decorative sills, surrounds, and voussoirs.
