This 1 ½ storey workers cottage was constructed in 1892. It features a gable roof, an enclosed porch, and flat, segmental windows. A canted bay window adds a decorative touch to the home’s south façade. The windows are embellished with shutters, side lights, and decorative sills.
The earliest known owner of the house was grocer Alexander Grant. He and his wife, Rebecca, lived here as early as 1909. Alexander passed away in 1914, leaving the house to Rebecca. Rebecca lived at the address until 1927. In 1943, the home was purchased by Frank Lockhart, who worked as an engineer at the Waterworks plant. When Frank died in 1946, his wife Adah took possession of the home. The house remained in the Lockhart family for over ten years.
