For most of its history, this block was home to Brown’s Drug Store. The drug store was operated by Alexander and Angus Brown. The store sold not only medicines and prescriptions, but also cosmetics, cameras, videos, and other goods. In 1986 the building was acquired by Zeke’s Jewellers which continues to operate at this location today.

Although built in 1927, the building is sympathetic in material and height to its neighbours. The brick exterior is accented by brick corbelling, a recessed entrance, and windows with transom lights and decorative sills. The building’s most prominent feature is the roof, which sports a battlement and a castellated cornice.
