This 1 ½ storey brick structure was built in 1885. Designed in the Italianate style, it features a flat roof trimmed with brick corbelling, and pilasters decorating the otherwise simple brick exterior. The segmental, double-hung windows are adorned with decorative voussoirs. Although the original owner of the building is unknown, it is likely that it was part of the Hanbury Manufacturing Co., whose yards were located on both the east and west sides of the 6th St. and Assiniboine Avenue intersection. In 1929, the building was acquired by Christie School Supply Ltd. It served as the store’s warehouse until 1939. The building was then purchased by the Brandon Woollen Mills.
