This late Queen Anne style home is another of W.A. Elliott's designs. The house was built for the Christie family. Ernest Christie was a stationer and the founder of a school supply company that continues to bear his name. It has been said that before 1920 virtually every school textbook in western Canada passed through Christie's shop, a statement which says as much for the prominence of Brandon as it does for Christie. The distinctive rose coloured brick was manufactured in Hartney by the Manitoba Brick Company.
