Designed in the Bungalow style, this home’s most unique feature is its saltbox roof. The roof is decorated with shed dormers, bargeboard trim, brackets, and wide eaves. Like many Bungalow-style homes, the exterior features exposed rafters. The home boasts an open porch and verandah supported by columns. A sunroom is found on the second storey. The home’s first owner was George R. Laing, an accountant for Pioneer Fruit Co. In 1925, the house was sold to John Scriver. Scriver was employed as the manager of the CPR Telegraph office. He resided at the address for thirty years.
