This cottage was designed by architect William A. Elliott as his home and office. W.A. Elliott was a prominent architect in Brandon. Elliott trained in Chicago and New York City before moving to Brandon in 1899. He produced designs for dozens of schools and churches, as well as municipal, commercial and residential buildings throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The simple yet pleasing exterior of this home hides a decorative interior that includes an open beamed living room ceiling. William Elliot died in 1947 at the age of 81.
