Built in 1908, this single-storey workers cottage originally belonged to carpenter John Birin. He and his wife resided here for nearly fifty years. The original design features a gable roof with moulding detail and exposed rafters. The boomtown façade and recessed entrance were likely added in the early 1950s, when the home was sold to grocers George and Cecelia Lysenko. Before moving to this address, the Lysenko family lived and worked across the street at 2034 McDonald Avenue.
