W.A. Elliott was commissioned by the Victoria Methodist congregation to design the church that stands on the northwest corner of Victoria Avenue and 15th Street. The church was completed in 1909. Prior to that, in 1896, Knox Presbyterian Church was built on the southeast corner of the same intersection. When the United Church was organized, the two congregations joined in 1925 to worship at Victoria Methodist, which took the name Knox United. In 1954, a new Knox United Church was built on the corner of Victoria Avenue and 18th Street. The same year, the present property was purchased by the congregation of the First Christian Reform Church, who continue to worship there today. A number of renovations and updates have been made to the building, but the exterior and the sanctuary are primarily original. One outstanding feature is the beautiful stained glass in the ceiling and roof design.
