This large Queen Anne-style home originally belonged to Robert Darrach, deputy clerk for the provincial court. Darrach arrived in Brandon in 1883. He worked in the agricultural implements business for ten years. He was appointed clerk of the court in 1893. As an active member of the community, Darrach served on the Brandon School Board for ten years, was a member of the Brandon College Board of Directors, and served on the Board at the Brandon General Hospital. He resided at 134 Louise Avenue until 1911.

The design features a hipped roof with gable-shaped dormers and moulding detail. The open verandah is supported by columns, and topped with a pediment. The exterior is accented with pilasters, dentils, as well as bay and ornamental windows.
