This Italianate-style building features a flat roof and a detailed brick exterior. The building is decorated with brick belts, a pediment, and an inscription. The building’s double hung windows are adorned with decorative sills and voussoirs. The building was constructed in the mid to late 1920s, and was originally owned called the Brown Block. The block was owned by Samuel H. Brown. Brown operated Brown Electric Co. in the storefront, while apartments and offices were rented in the rear portion of the building. Over the years, the building has also been occupied by Kerr’s, a tire dealer owned by John C. Kerr; Goodyear Tire & Rubber; Pearen Construction Co.; and the Dominion Department of Agriculture. The building is now known as the Orange Block.
