This 1 ½ storey Italianate structure was designed by architects W.H. Shillinglaw and David Marshall, and built by contractor C.W. Hall in 1912. The building was originally home to McCreary Automotive, one of Brandon’s first auto dealerships. The painted sign for McCreary Automotive is still visible on the building’s front façade, as are the signs advertising the sale of Whippets Trucks. In the 1940s, farming implements retailer Gillis and Warren Ltd. operated from this location. Over the years, the building has also housed the Knights of Columbus Hall (1960s); an array of small shops, including a salon, a coffee shop, and a bookstore; a drop-in centre; the Blue Bus Line Service;  Golden Perogy Restaurant; Miss Q’s Billiards; and Clancy’s Eatery & Drinkery.

Architectural features include a brick structure and exterior, a battlement, brick corbelling, a decorative cornice and pediment, and decorative display windows with side lights.
