Built in 1892, this 1 ½ storey home features distinct Italianate characteristics such as a flat, segmental windows and a low-pitched roof with brackets and wide eaves. Other details include an enclosed porch and stained glass windows. The earliest known owner of 322 16th Street was Thomas McKenzie, who lived here as early as 1909. McKenzie, a bookkeeper at the Brandon Electric Light Co., resided here until 1925. In 1933, the home was acquired by Urbon Edgar Betson. Betson was employed at numerous different jobs over the years, including one as a bee keeper, and as manager of the Grand Union Hotel. Betson lived at the address until his death in 1957.
