This Bungalow-style home is one of three built on the block in 1927. The design features a gable roof with flared wide eaves and a large, brick chimney. The open porch is supported by columns and decorated with brick and moulding detail. The home’s windows are adorned with canopies, side lights, and transom lights.

The home originally belonged to Lloyd D. Shewan, sales manager of Canada Gas & Electric Company. He later became sales superintendent of the Manitoba Power Commission. In 1933, the home passed to Alexander Shewan, owner of dry goods retailer A. Shewan & Son.  He resided here until 1937, when the home was purchased by Alexander M. Brown. Brown was the proprietor of Brown’s Drug Store and lived at the address until 1949.
