This large, 1 ½ storey building was originally built as a general store. The store was owned by Herman Shore, who also lived at the address, until 1917. The building continued to be occupied by grocery stores until the 1950s. These stores included Hersack Bros. Grocery (1929-1943), and Harry’s Grocery (1947-1952). In 1952, the building also served as a sub-post office for the north end.
