This Italianate-style home was built in 1895. Like the other homes on the south side of the block, it was built on speculation by the Bell Brothers. The design combines gable, hipped, and pyramidal roofs and features a detailed chimney and bargeboard trim. The windows are accented by decorative sills and voussoirs. The earliest known resident of the address was Reverend Charles W. Jackson, pastor of First Baptist Church, which stands across the street. Jackson resided at 1030 Lorne as early as 1907 and remained until 1909.
