This large two-storey home was constructed in 1896. Designed in the Queen Anne style, it features a gable roof with wide eaves and bargeboard trim. Although much of the original exterior has been replaced with a fake façade, the home retains its original bay window and enclosed porch. The home’s original owner is unknown and, like many other houses at the time, most residents did not stay in the house longer than a few years. One of the home’s longest-staying owners was Mr. John Davidson, a tailor who lived and worked at 1026 Lorne Avenue from 1913 to 1925.
