The Canadian Pacific Railway Depot is a fitting termination of the vista down the commercial streetscape of 10th Street. The 1911 station, designed in the company's Winnipeg office, is annexed to the old station by a breezeway. The design is in the Neo-classical style, which infers the reworking of elements derived from (he architecture of ancient Greece and Rome. Thus the imposing south entrance facade is a traditional grouping of monumental components, an ordered balancing of brick and cement pilasters; large window openings with prominent surrounds; a cornice and raised parapet scored to simulate marble; and crowning the central section, a date-stone and clock.
