The Bungalow-style home at 750 14th Street was built in 1916. The design features a gable roof with fine details such as bargeboard trim, brackets, exposed beam purlins, exposed rafters, flared wide eaves, and gable detailing. The exterior is decorated with detailed brickwork, columns, bay windows, and side lights. For nearly ten years, the house belonged to its first owner, Mrs. Syllinda Cunningham, and her family. Throughout its history, the home has housed many different owners. Included among them are Earl E. Logan, principal of the Wheat City Business College; Charles F. Peavoy, manager of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.; and Frank H. Lawson, owner of agricultural implements retailer Frank H. Lawson & Sons.
