The Williamson family had this building constructed in 1949 in order to accommodate their expanding business, the Wheat City Dairy. Prior to the new dairy’s construction, the family lived and worked next door at 724 10th Street. The dairy, though it underwent numerous name changes, was housed at this new location for many years.

The dairy was designed in the Art Deco style, which was popular among commercial buildings at the time. Although it appears modest from the 10th Street facade, the single-storey building actually extends quite far back, and has a fairly expansive floor plan. The exterior is sheathed in stucco plaster and features a flat roof and double- hung windows.
