This large Queen Anne-style home was constructed in 1916. The 1 ½ storey design boasts a hipped roof with gable-shaped dormers and a detailed chimney. The roof is trimmed with moulding, brick corbelling, and a decorative gable. The open porch is decorated with columns and column plinths. The exterior features canted bay windows on both storeys, as well as display windows. The windows are adorned with decorative surrounds, bevelled glass, and stained glass.

The first owner of 525 15th Street was Mr. William H. King, a teacher at the Brandon Collegiate Institute. King owned the home until 1919, when it was purchased by dentist Dr. Percy C. Hughes. Hughes resided at the home for nearly thirty years; he moved a few years prior to his death in 1953.
