Doors Open will be offering three guided walking tours & one facilitiy tour this year!

Historical walking tours will take place from 1:00-2:00pm and 3:00-4:00pm both Saturday and Sunday.


Downtown Walking Tour- Stanley Park

The "Learning About the Other Side of Brandon" walking tour is a new addition! Join Aly Wowchuk in historic Downtown Brandon to explore some of the lesser-knowns of the Wheat City. Do you know the whole story? Go down some familiar streets with a new view!

Saturday and Sunday at 1:00pm

Please meet at Stanley Park 10 minutes before the tour starts.

Brandon Mental Health Centre- Parkland Building

Another new addition to 2022! Join Laura a former BMHC employee will take you through the evolution of Brandon Mental Health Centre. The grounds now hold the Assiniboine Community College North Campus but as you walk through the grounds and view the orginal buildings you will learn that there is still many stories to be told. 

Walking tours will take place from 1:00pm both Saturday and Sunday.

Please meet in front of The Parkland Building at ACC 10 minutes before the tour starts.


Nature Walk- 33 17th Street

Join naturalist David Barnes on a guided tour of Brandon's vibrant natural history at the Assiniboine Food Forest Inc. (AFFI)! Explore the diverse and stunning ecosystems along the Assiniboine River, including wetlands and ancient oak woods, and wander through the AFFI's beautiful orchards and gardens. All ages are welcome to participate in this exciting interactive tour! Please note that the trails are not wheelchair accessible, and include some minor mobility challenges.

Nature walks will take place from 3:00-4:00pm both Saturday and Sunday

Will depart by Crow's General Store (33 17th Street East).


 Observatory Tours- Saturday Only

Climb up to one of the highest accessible points in Brandon, and take in the bird's eye view of the city from the top of McMaster Hall. Partake in a solar observing with the help of a volunteer with the Brandon University Astronomical Observatory!

Observatory tours will start at 1:30, 2:30, 3:15 & 4:15  on SATURDAY ONLY. There is a limit of 30 people on each tour, so please pre-register by calling (204) 729-7797.
