Doors Open Brandon event will feature 21 charming properties. 

This year there will be five local museums taking part; Brandon General Museum and Archives, Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum, Daly House Museum, 26th Field Regiment RCA/ 12th Manitoba Dragoons Museum, and Royal Canadian Artillery Museum. All will be offering FREE Admission during the event. It is a great opportunity to take advantage of the history Brandon has to offer. 

Please note that Daly House Museumm and the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum will only be open Saturday, July 15th. 


Water Treatment Facility Tour

Tour Time: 2pm both Saturday and Sunday

The Water Treatment Facility, plays a large role in Brandon’s functional heritage. Come learn how your drinking water is transformed from the Assiniboine River to your taps.

Down Town Walking Tour

Tour Times: 1:00pm and 3:00pm both Saturday and Sunday 

This tour will start at the Brandon General Museum and Archives, 19 9th Street. This walking tour will take you back to in time to learn about the early years of our city. Be sure to also visit the Brandon General Musuem to see the Canada 150 exhibit. 

Nature Walking Tour: 

Tour Times: 2:00pm and 4:00pm both Saturday and Sunday

The nature walk will start at Crow's General Store. The tour will lead you through the forest where you will learn about different species of trees and about the nature that call this area home. 

Brandon Wheat King Tour: 

Tour Time: 1:00pm both Saturday and Sunday 

Join this tour to learn about the history of the players and the hockey club! This tour will take place at the Westman Communication Group Place, please use the ramp entrance. 

Fire Hall Tours: 

Tour Times: 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, 4:30pm

Come check out this tour to learn the history of the Fire Department in Brandon. See the equipment used today and get a chance to interact with your local firefighters.
